Meet Dr. Shmuel Stern, a board-certified Periodontist who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brooklyn College. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2000. After completing his residency in general practice at Staten Island University Hospital, Dr. Stern pursued a postdoctoral program in the College of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, where he delved into various aspects of Periodontics, Implant Dentistry, and Periodontal Prosthetics. In 2004, he obtained his Certificate in Periodontology.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Stern has been recognized with numerous awards, including the CCPA Award (2000) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Award (2000). He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the South Florida District Dental Association.
Dr. Stern is the Director of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry for the Residency Program at Community Smiles, a non-profit dental clinic committed to promoting oral health education and enhancing dental care access for underserved families and children in Miami-Dade County. He has also lectured and served as a clinical instructor at Nova Southeastern University's postdoctoral program in Periodontics.
When he is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Stern enjoys engaging in outdoor activities such as kayak fishing and spending quality time with his family. He is fluent in both English and Hebrew.
