Dr. John Totera brings his wealth of experience and expertise to Sage Dental, joining us from New Jersey. He obtained his dental degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, in 1983. Before that, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. With over four decades of private practice under his belt, Dr. Totera has not only honed his skills but also served as a mentor to many young dentists throughout his career. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. For Dr. Totera, dentistry is both an art and a science, and his passion for the field is evident in the care he provides to his patients. Having relocated to Florida with his family, he is actively involved in his church and is a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Totera specializes in Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, creating beautiful smiles for his patients. He is also certified in injectables such as Botox and Fillers, expanding his repertoire of services. By participating in continued education seminars, he ensures he remains up-to-date in all disciplines of dentistry, delivering the highest level of care to his patients and their families. Dr. Totera strives to make each visit comfortable and provides a positive experience for all. Fluent in both English and Italian, Dr. Totera is ready to serve patients with diverse backgrounds and ensure effective communication throughout their dental journey.

Dr. Zahabiyah Tsiamwala, known affectionately as Dr. "Z," is a board-eligible Endodontist at Sage Dental and a native of New York. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Stony Brook University, where she was a WISE Honors College scholarship recipient. During her time at Stony Brook University's School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Z discovered her passion for dentistry through volunteer work. Dr. Z received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry. While at NYU, Dr. Z demonstrated her leadership by participating in two dental mission trips, earning an American Association of Endodontists Award for her pain research, and completing endodontic externships at various postgraduate programs. She continued her specialty training at Rutgers University College of Dental Medicine in Newark. Outside the operatory, Dr. Z enjoys creating masterful meals for her husband and two growing sons. Dr. Zahabiyah Tsiamwala and her team are committed to working closely with your dental professional to provide quality endodontic care in a relaxing and calming environment.  Dr. Z is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati and has dental proficiency in Spanish.

Dr. Juan Miguel Sanchez is a Periodontist and Dental Implant Surgeon who proudly serves Greater Tampa. Dr. Sanchez is calm, comfortable, and committed to a patient-centered approach to care using the latest techniques as part of his patients' dental care. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Sanchez practiced as a General Dentist for two years, focusing on restorative and oral surgical procedures before pursuing specialty training. Afterward, he completed his post-doctoral training at a rigorous three-year residency in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sanchez specializes in dental implant surgery, periodontal surgery, soft tissue gum grafting, bone grafting, and sinus augmentation. Dr. Sanchez is ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certified and provides IV conscious sedation for his patients' comfort. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons, and Florida Association of Periodontists, staying up-to-date with new advancements in dentistry. He has published research in the Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Craniomandibular and Sleep Practice, and Special Care in Dentistry. When not at the office, Dr. Sanchez enjoys working out, trying local restaurants, and spending family time with his beautiful wife and two-year-old toddler at Florida beaches or local parks.
