Dr. Kurt Kobes recently retired from the US Air Force after serving for over 21 years. He started his dental journey by attending the Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston), graduating with a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2000. He then completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2001 while serving in the United States Navy in Yokosuka, Japan.
In 2006, Dr. Kobes joined the United States Air Force, completing a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2011. He next met the requirements for board certification, and in 2012 he became board certified by the American Board of General Dentistry. He is also an Academy of General Dentistry member and has served as the Chief Dentist at MacDill Air Force Base for the last four years.
Dr. Kobes has been married for over 28 years to his wife Lyn, and they are blessed with three adult children, Luke (24), Sarah (22), and Caroline (18). He is an active member of Grace Family Church at Carrollwood and is involved with the marriage ministry. He also volunteers at New Life Warehouse, a non-profit that delivers donated furniture and household goods to foster families, trafficking victims, clients transitioning out of homelessness, and others starting over in a new place.
Dr. Kobes loves boating, fishing, golfing, and snow skiing in his free time. He has enjoyed living in different states and even other countries, but he and his wife are ready to settle down, and the Tampa area offers so much for them to enjoy. He believes dentistry is an amazing and rewarding profession, and he loves restoring oral health and transforming his patients' lives.
