Dr. Cherie Gu graduated from Emory University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She attended and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2016.

Dr. Gu became interested in g a dentist because her father had poor dental health and no access to treatment. This fueled her passion for promoting a healthy smile and her desire to break down barriers that prevent care.

Dr. Gu is native to Alabama but is happily settled in the Atlanta area with her husband and one-year-old son. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and explore foodie options in the city. She is fluent in English and Chinese.

Dr. Yaseen Makhzan is dedicated to helping patients feel confident in their smiles through personalized care, clear communication, and attention to detail. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed advanced specialty training in orthodontics. Dr. Makhzan speaks English and Farsi, allowing him to connect with and care for a diverse range of patients.

Dr. Makhzan takes a thoughtful, individualized approach to orthodontic care. He believes in clearly communicating treatment options and developing personalized treatment plans that help patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their orthodontic journey. His attention to detail and commitment to patient care guide him in helping each patient achieve a confident smile.

Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Makhzan enjoys chess, exercise, and spending time with family and friends. A former regional chess champion, he brings the same strategy, focus, and dedication he developed through the game to his work as an orthodontist.

Dr. Sheerin Yusuf started her formal education in dentistry at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka, India. When she moved to the United States, she attended Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated Summa cum Laude in 2002 with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2002 with Advanced Standing Student status. She went on to study and receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2009 and completed a Residency in Endodontics until 2011.

Adept at research, Dr. Yusuf completed formal analysis in a ‘comparative study to determine the efficiency of variable taper and constant taper rotary files during the cleaning and shaping of the root canal system in teeth with mild, moderate, and severe curvatures.’ In 2011 she completed another formal research study, which provided “A Comparison of Apical Transportation among NiTi constant taper rotary files, M-Wire NiTi files, and stainless steel files in a reciprocating handpiece.”

Dr. Yusuf is a member of the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association.

When not practicing her passion for dentistry, Dr. Yusuf enjoys reading, swimming, hiking with friends and family, and spending time with her four kids and husband. She speaks English, Hindi, Kannada, and Urdu.

Dr. Alexander Null is an accomplished oral and maxillofacial surgeon currently serving as an Army Major stationed at Martin Army Medical Center in Fort Benning, GA. He received his undergraduate degree in Pre-Medicine from Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University), where he also played college soccer. Dr. Null then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016.

Following dental school, Dr. Null completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He then pursued further oral and maxillofacial surgery training at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in Fort Bliss, Texas, where he graduated with the Distinguished Graduate Award.

Dr. Null is an American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons member. He has dedicated his career to serving his country through his work in the United States Army. He is currently the Oral Surgeon Mentor for the AEGD program at Martin Army Medical Center, where he supervises and trains eight residents annually.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Null is also actively involved in charity work, having volunteered with Mission of Mercy and providing oral surgery services to the community at his previous duty locations. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Angela, and their two dogs, Zoe and Gigi. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves going to the beach and fishing.

Dr. Null discovered his passion for oral surgery during dental school and has since dedicated his career to providing exceptional patient care. He is highly skilled in a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures and is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field.
